Gold and silver, considered carefully.

Sell your gold and silver with confidence.

Start with a few photographs. We'll help you understand what you have and, if you decide to post it, make a written offer after assessment.

Built for boxes and bundles: jewellery boxes, inherited pieces, house clearances. A single piece is welcome to ask first.

A broad mixed lot laid out on a pale grey workbench: gold rings in a white porcelain tray, two gold bangles, three gold chains each in its own loop, a gold locket and a gold pocket watch, with silver teaspoons, forks, napkin rings and a cream jug to the right.

  • Photographs first

A person looks at your photographs and gives you a rough idea before you post anything. It costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

    Sending photographs
  • One written offer

Everything that arrives is listed and assessed, and one written offer covers the lot. Nothing is sold until you say yes.

    Offers and payment

Say no and everything comes back by tracked, signed-for post, at our cost and at our risk until it reaches you.

    Posting safely and cover

How it works

Four steps, and you can stop at any of them

Nothing is committed until you accept a written offer. Until then, stopping costs you nothing.

  1. Send photographs

Lay the pieces out in daylight and send a few photographs on WhatsApp, or ring 07369 296063 to describe them. A person replies with a rough idea of what you have and whether posting is worthwhile.

  2. Arrange the postage

When you are ready to post, we arrange the postage with you and confirm the service and its cover in writing before anything is sent.

  3. Assessment and one offer

Every piece is listed, weighed and checked for its metal. You receive one written offer for everything you sent, with the list beside it.

  4. Your decision

Accept and you are paid by bank transfer; your offer says when. Decline and everything comes back by tracked, signed-for post at our cost.

Every stage in detail

How your things are handled

Ordinary pieces get the same care as fine ones

  • Photographed before it is opened

The parcel, its seal and any damage are photographed on arrival, before anything inside is touched.

  • Listed piece by piece

Every item is listed and photographed as it is unpacked, including anything we cannot buy.

  • Examined without harm

Every piece is weighed and checked for its metal; the methods depend on the piece and are listed on your offer. Nothing that marks a piece is done without your written consent.

  • Worth more whole? You are told first

A signed or antique piece, a collectable coin, a watch by a known maker, running or not: if it may be worth more to a specialist, an auction house or a dealer, we tell you before any offer, so you can take it there. Nothing is melted, cut or taken apart before you accept.

Each of these is a commitment in our terms.

Inherited pieces and estates

When the jewellery was someone else's

You do not need to sort anything or decide anything first. You can ask what the pieces are before anything leaves the house and keep whatever you want to keep. Nothing is sold until you say yes.

  • Inherited jewellery

Find out what a box holds before deciding what to keep.

  • Probate and estates

For executors: a written list of every piece and one offer to buy. It is an offer, not a probate valuation, and the decision stays yours.

  • Clearing a house

Mixed metal from a clearance, sent as it was found.

Questions

Before you post anything

Can I find out what it is before I post anything?

Yes, and it is the best place to start. Send a few photographs on WhatsApp, or email them to messinabenni@gmail.com. A person reads the marks, says what looks plated and points out anything that may be worth more than its metal. That reply is a rough idea from the photographs. It is free, it is not an offer or a valuation, and it commits you to nothing. No WhatsApp? Ring or text 07369 296063 (6am to 10pm, seven days a week). What to photograph.

Do you only buy whole boxes?

No. The service is built for boxes and bundles; a single piece is welcome to ask first. Send a photograph and you will be told plainly whether posting it makes sense. What we buy.

Is it safe to put it in the post?

Nothing is posted until the postage has been arranged. When you are ready to post, we arrange the postage with you and confirm the service and its cover in writing before anything is sent. On postage we arrange, the risk in the post is ours in both directions, until anything we return reaches your door, and if a parcel is lost you are owed what the items were worth. Tell us roughly what is going in, so the right service is used. Posting safely and cover.

What happens if I say no?

Everything comes back to you by tracked, signed-for post at our cost, with nothing taken off. You can also ask for some pieces back and have a fresh offer for the rest. An offer you do not answer is never treated as a yes, and nobody rings to talk you round. Offers, returns and payment.

How would I be paid?

By bank transfer to a UK account in your own name, once you accept. Your written offer states when the payment is made. We do not pay cash. Payment goes to an account in the seller's own name; if you are selling for an estate, for someone else or for an organisation, ask before you post and we will confirm in writing what authority is needed and how payment is made. Offers, returns and payment.

Start with a few photographs

A few photographs on your phone are enough. A person replies, and you decide afterwards whether to post anything.
